PULSE Fields

PULSE Fields creates Jira custom fields populated with duration and workflow metrics for issues in the selected project.

Where to use them

• Add PULSE fields to Jira board cards to see glanceable metrics without opening each issue.
• Include them in issue table views and exports.
• Use them in Jira dashboards and dashboard gadgets.

Associate each field with the relevant project and add it to the appropriate issue view, board card layout, or dashboard gadget.

Available metrics

• Status duration: total term and last term in each status.
• Status entries: entrance date and entrance count for each status.
• Transitions: counts for specific status-to-status moves.
• Current status: total term, last term, transition count, entrance date, and entrance count for the issue's current status.
• Member metrics: total time per member, each member's total and last term and entrance count per status, and member transition counts.
• Status groups: total and average time across the statuses in a configured group.

Duration values use the report's selected duration format. Counts are numeric, and entrance dates are displayed as dates.

Refresh timing

A refresh check runs when the issue-duration page or global script loads. Values update only if at least 15 minutes have passed since the previous refresh. Creating a new field triggers an immediate refresh.
